I am delighted to announce the official Stratford-upon-Avon launch of my brand new collectionThe Ghost of the Trenches and other stories from the First World War at Waterstones, Stratford-upon-Avon, on Saturday 12th April. Do come along and say hello. I will be signing books in the store from 2pm to 3pm. Click on the thumbnail next to this blog for a full invitation. Everyone is welcome!
It’s been a busy few days too. I was on the A&C Black stand at the Education Show at the NEC last Thursday (20th March) and then I joined editor, Holly Gardner, and fellow Bloomsbury author, Peter Worley, at the Gala Dinner for the Education Resource Awards on the Friday evening at the National Motorcycle Museum. I was honoured that One Day In Oradour was a finalist in the Secondary Resources (Non-ICT) category. Although I did not win, it was great to be shortlisted.
I have also been busy finalising all the schools events for the Straford-upon-Avon Literary Festival, which starts next week with events with Giles Paley-Philips, Antony Lishak and Lauren Child. On Tuesday 1st April I will also be taking a special panel of four authors – Tony Bradman, Geraldine McCaughrean, Nigel Hinton and Linda Newbery – into two secondary schools in Leamington Spa, where they will be sharing some tales from their new Orchard Books collection Stories from World War I. Keep an eye on my blog for some photos and updates as the week progresses.
