Author talks and creative writing workshops

One Day In Oradour

What is historical fiction? How can you blend fact with fiction to create a good story? How important is it to get your facts straight? Find out the answers to these questions and more in an interactive author talk or writing workshop. Helen will focus on her debut novel One Day In Oradourreveal the true story that inspired her to write the book and offer some practical advice to budding writers.

Author talks usually last between one hour and 90 minutes, including time for questions, and are designed to be interactive and to promote discussion. Creative writing workshops usually run for at least 2 hours and include an author presentation, followed by time to plan and draft ideas and receive some one-to-one advice. Both session types can be tailored to suit the age of the audience, group size and the time available and will include time to buy books and have them signed by the author.
